Associate Roaster / Fulfillment Team Member – Year round position. Approx. 30 hours per week

This person must have a deep love and respect for coffee, and be interested in refining their tasting palate. You must be a collaborator, willing and eager to listen, understand and learn. You are a multi-tasker, self-motivated, have experience working a fast-paced environment, and work with a sense of purpose. We are in the process of adding Cacao to our product line and this position will have the opportunity be involved in that space as we launch the business division and grow.

This position is multi-faceted:

  • You will help with the company’s roasting tasks, and setting up cuppings for quality control

  • You will assist in Fulfillment of orders which includes wholesale, our own cafe’s, online and subscription

  • You will assist in Cold Brew production and our Canned coffee production

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to:

  • Roasting coffees as directed by the Lead Roaster

  • Help set up quaintly control cuppings with the team

  • Fulfill coffee bean orders with an incredible eye for detail, ensuring 100% accuracy with ability to meet last-minute demands as they arise

  • Production fulfillment: blending, weighing, bagging, and organizing coffee beans efficiently and accurately

  • Assemble, pack, label, and organize coffee bags with accuracy and care for the daily & weekly schedules, paying attention to packaging size, weight and shipping costs

  • Maintain the production facility in impeccable shape: sweeping, organizing, and cleaning after each production run

  • Support your team members as needed in keeping production running smoothly

  • Assist in regularly scheduled machine maintenance and report and follow-up any issues encountered to stay ahead of machinery malfunctions

  • Perform daily shipping tasks and help maintain accurate records and reports

  • You take ownership and investigative and solve problems related to customer queries on deliveries and shipping queries.

  • Aptitude for working with applications and systems for roasting, inventory and fulfillment systems, along with subscription and shipping platforms  

  • Other duties as required by management and lead roaster

    Requirements

  • Ideally candidates should have at least 2 years of specialty coffee experience.

  • A good tasting palate in order to differentiate coffee taste and profiles

  • Be willing to work as necessary between our 2 locations of West Dennis and Chatham

  • Good communicator and ability to take input and follow directions

  • The ability to lift, push/pull, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds

  • The ability to work nights shifts or weekends shifts if necessary to meet production demands.
